Lesson 15:
Fernando de Noronha II
Beaches and Bays
Fernando de Noronha has 17 beaches, scattered between the mar-de-dentro and mar-de-fora beaches. "Mar-de-dentro" is the side of the island that faces Brazil. It has ten beaches and two bays. On this side of the island, the sea is calm during most of the year, and it is protected from winds.
It is possible to go from one beach to another in tours full of beauty and adventure. "Mar-de-fora" faces Africa. There are four beaches, one harbour, two contemplation areas, and a group of beaches in the rocks. On this side, the sea is more agitated, but the reefs calm down the sea in some points. However, it has many flushes and large areas with plenty of coloured fishes, like huge aquariums.
