Recife: How to get there
Recife’s International Airport of Guararapes, called Gilberto Freyre, and is the largest airport complex in the Northeast of Brazil in annual passenger capacity, the second busiest terminal for domestic flights in the region and the third in the country for international flights.
The International Airport is situated 11 kilometres from Recife’s city centre, approximately 20 minutes by car. Public transport is also available from 7 am to 10 pm, and it takes approximately 40 minutes to reach Recife’s city centre by bus, or 20 minutes by subway.
Where to stay
Recife offers a good infrastructure for visitors. The accommodation industry has 11 thousand hotel-beds, and during high season (January, February, July and December), they have occupancy rates of almost 100%. The seafront of Boa Viagem offers tourists the best hotels in the city and the beauty of the most important beach in Recife.
