Lesson 16:
Tiradentes
The Romantic city of Minas Gerais
Tiradentes’s romantic city has maintained the atmosphere of its colonial past, with well-kept houses, cobbled streets, and the legend of Joaquim Jose da Silva Xavier, who fought for freedom in Brazil.
In Tiradentes, take your closest companion by the hand and wander the streets to take in the richness of the Matriz, dine under a starry sky, and sleep in the cosy rooms of the many picturesque hotels or inns.
To visit the region, why not take the steam train ride from São João Del Rei to Tiradentes aboard the Maria-Fumaça?
