Unique houses and town
There are two sites in southern Italy famous all over the world for their unique constructing style:

The Sassi and the Park of the Rupestrian Churches of MateraThis is the most outstanding, intact example of a troglodyte settlement in the Mediterranean region, perfectly adapted to its terrain and ecosystem.

The Trulli of AlberobelloLimestone dwellings found in the southern region of Puglia, are remarkable examples of drywall (mortarless) construction, a prehistoric building technique still in use in this region.
